Floriade 2006
Floriade is an annual flower festival held in Canberra - for a photographer (or anyone who likes flowers) visiting it is like being a pig in mud. There's no stories to these shots - just take in the colour!
Clean Energy for Eternity - Human Sign at Old Parliament House
The Clean Energy for Eternity crew (see www.cleanenergyforeternity.net) are a dedicated group of people who are working to change public opinion and sway politician's views to move Australia towards a clean energy future. I'll unreservedly admit that I back their work wholeheartedly - our current sources of energy are causing great harm to humanity and the global biosphere, much of which won't be undone for thousands of years, or is permanent (extinction is, as they say, forever). It continues to amaze me how people are turning a blind eye to practices that are are likely to mean will inherit an overheated planet plagued by harsh extremes of climate and shortages of resources.
But enough rambling - the Human sign was a great success. For the shots from the air, see the clean energy site (check their photo album). For some shots from the ground, click here.
